My home was severely damaged during the storm and the FEMA 50 % rule is preventing me from repairing it. How does elevating help with that?Once we elevate your home to above the required height you are no longer subject to the FEMA 50% rebuild restrictions. The municipality may still require some updates to systems that you are repairing but the repairs should be allowed.
-
Can you help prevent potential future damage from a major storm or hurricane?Yes. We specialize in quickly assessing homes that may be prone to rising water from the ocean, lakes, the intercoastal, retention ponds or any flood zone areas. We can work with you to find the right solution for your home.
-
Can you really lift my home, it’s pretty big?The size, complexity, and design of your home, doesn’t affect whether we can lift it or not. We’ve lifted homes of nearly every shape and size. As long as the home is structurally sound, we can elevate it to a flood compliant height and build a new, current Code foundation to keep it safe.
-
How long does it really take to raise my home? The engineering and permitting for most projects take about two months, during which you can remain in the home. Once we mobilize our high-tech crews to your location, we can have a typical home elevated and on a new foundation within 90 days.
-
Will my home be more prone to hurricane winds once elevated? No. The additional height needed to get most homes above the flood level doesn’t place the roofline in any greater danger. And the new foundation system will allow flood waters to equalize and flow around and through instead of damaging the walls of the home leading to failure.
-
Do I have to wait until the home is elevated to do my repairs from the storm? No. Some jurisdictions may not issue a repair/remodel permit until you are elevated above the floodplain. However, once an elevation permit is in process, you may be allowed to proceed. We encourage you to do all things necessary to restore your home and get your life back to normal.
-
Can I raise my block on slab home, even if the slab has cracks? Most block homes have cracks in the slab. Our team identifies the slab condition, manages the variables, and provides solutions. This IS NOT a barrier to home elevation. Our precision and engineering ensure long-term durability and a structural warranty.
-
Is elevating my older home a reasonable investment or should I tear it down and rebuild?Removing your home from the risk of flooding is a sound investment. Flood insurance premiums are greatly reduced. Elevation is less costly than rebuilding and avoids the extended timeline and increase in taxes for new builds. In many cases, the original garage can be lifted adding to the living square footage of the home and increasing value as well.
-
Do I need to remove my furniture and belongings from my home before you elevate it?No, you don’t need to remove any of the contents from the home. Our process is non-invasive and your belongings will be safe during the entire process.
