A hurricane warning is issued when conditions are expected within a specified area. When a hurricane warning is issued, follow evacuation orders from local authorities and turn off utilities before leaving. Stay tuned into emergency channels and follow instructions from emergency management. During the storm, stay indoors away from windows and use a NOAA Weather Radio for real-time updates.
